The comparison explained
How to compare perfume prices and bottle sizes
Match the fragrance, concentration, bottle size and format before comparing retailer prices. Price per 100 ml helps compare bottle sizes; it does not make different products equivalent.
What must match when comparing a perfume?
Check the brand, fragrance name, concentration such as eau de toilette or eau de parfum, volume and format. A tester, refill, gift set or different concentration is not automatically equivalent to a boxed retail bottle.
How is price per 100 ml calculated?
Price per 100 ml = recorded bottle price divided by bottle volume in ml, multiplied by 100. For example, a hypothetical £30 bottle containing 50 ml costs £60 per 100 ml. A larger bottle may have a lower unit price while costing more in total.
Why do some listings have no price per 100 ml?
The calculation is withheld for ambiguous volumes, conflicting records and identified sets, testers, multipacks or beauty items. Missing unit pricing is not evidence that a product is cheaper or more expensive.
Can I compare prices across countries or currencies directly?
Keep the country, currency and bottle variant with each price. Delivery eligibility, taxes and charges can differ by retailer and destination. A recorded offer in one market is not confirmation that the same offer is available in another.
Are recorded prices guaranteed checkout prices?
No. A recorded price is an observation from the retailer data available to the site. Retain the observation date where shown and check the seller for the current price, stock, delivery and final total. Absence of an observation date does not establish that an offer is current.
Where should I check the evidence for a comparison?
Use the exact product page, where available, to inspect its identity, recorded retailer offers and source details. A calculation is derived from those records, not an independent retailer quotation. Keep the product variant, currency, exclusions and any observation date together when sharing a price.
